The 2015 Prize of the City of Barcelona awarded to superconductors
The City of Barcelona awards every year prizes to the best projects in different categories. For the category of experimental sciences and technology, The Mayor of the city of Barcelona, Ada Colau, gave the prize to Xavier Obradors and Teresa Puig for their discovery of a process of production of superconducting materials that is industrialitsable, affordable and based on ultrafast crystallization applicable to the sustainable management of electrical energy. These two researchers from the ICMAB, coordinator of the EUROTAPES project, have made significant contributions in the field of electricity and superconducting tapes.
The ceremony took place on the 16th of February 2016 in the city hall of Barcelona. This is a great recognition for the European research.

The content has been updated to better fit with the current state of the project. You will be able to find all necessary information about the project in order to have a good general understanding of its various research activities. You will find information about coated conductors, superconductors, polycrystalline mettalic tape, and much more.
EUROTAPES 36th month meeting
EUROTAPES 36th month meeting will take place in Ghent (Belgium) from the 7th to the 9th of October 2015.The meeting will be organised and hosted by the University of Ghent.
12th European Conference on Applied Superconductivity
From the 6th to the 10th of September, the 12th European Conference on Applied Superconductivity will be held at the convention center of Lyon. This is a very important conference for the EUROTAPES Consortium, which will attend it entirely. In addition, EUROTAPES is a Silver sponsor in order to have a large presence. Last, the project is holding a plenary session where more than 300 people already registered!
