Previous relevant experience related to the project’s aims:
Nexans Germany was and is involved in several R&D projects about superconductors. Nexans Germany has a wide range of experience in handling and converting of superconducting materials. Tools and machines for shaping and welding of small tubes out of metal strips is part of the product range. Nexans Germany has tools and experience in theoretical and practical methods for forming and welding processes. In addition, ZP has participated and coordinated several RTD projects at the German and European level being also external advisor for FP7 projects.
Profile of staff members involved in the project:
- Wilhelm Kutzbach is an R&D and commissioning expert. He is a technician, specialized in forming and welding applications and he has wide expertise in trial and test work. He is involved in several European projects of superconductivity.
- Nico Lange is an engineer, specialized in theoretical investigation of forming and welding processes. He has an extensive knowledge and experience in finite element analysis. He is working in different international R&D projects.
- Holger Schulz is the R&D manager. He is a mechanical engineer with long time experience in design and development of manufacturing equipment for shaped products. He has been involved in several international R&D projects regarding cryogenic, roll forming and welding aspects.
- Claus-Fr. Theune is a mechanical engineer with a wide range of experiences in process engineering specially in forming and welding processes. He is working in different projects of superconductivity cabling and acts as project manager of European projects.
